Italy – Ravello from the sea

Castiglione & Ravello

A recent image taken on holiday in Amalfi. This is Ravello viewed from the sea, with Gore Vidal’s former home ‘La Rondinaia’ prominent to the right and just above the centre of the photograph. To the left of this you can make out the row of busts that line the belvedere of the Villa Cimbrone. The village in the centre at sea level is Castiglione and the buildings at the extreme left are in Atrani.

You can see a larger version of the image if you visit the image page and click on ‘view all sizes’.
