Currently lying empty and drifting into dereliction, the hotel still hangs over the harbour with stately elegance. The green exterior lift to take guests from the garage up to the hotel is evidence of this once very grand establishment. The longer it lays empty, the costs of restoration will escalate exponentially which is a great shame.
The beautifully tended gardens of the Villa Cimbrone are worth the 5 euros entrance fee.
Just to the West of the previous post, the villages of Atrani (left) and Castiglione (right). Atrani, at 1 square Km, is apparently the smallest municipality in the European Union (EU). It’s a very laid back place and worth stopping at if you’re in the area to enjoy a drink and a pizza in the charming little square.
